Illusion, starring Kirk Douglas

by puredawn @ 2007-06-05 - 09:05:38

This is Kirk Douglas' final film, in which he gives an incredible performance of a dying film-maker given the privileged look, Christmas CArol style, at the Akashic Records. The life he is observing is not his own, but that of his son, who he has not seen since childhood.

It is, deservedly, a presentation by The Spiritual Cinema Circle, dealing with themes in a wonderfully grounded way. The son was evidently affected by being abandoned by his father at a young age, which leads him into various repeating patterns of behaviour. Lifes beautiful synchronicity, its destiny and the existence of a soul-mate are also touched upon.

For me, this is exciting to see. The world is changing, there is an awakening of the spirit happening now, and for a screen legend to be supporting work such as this is a real sign of progress.

The Indigo Evolution

This film is a documentary about the children of today, many of whom are displaying remarkable gifts and talents. They are a part of a constantly expanding consciousness and they need to be loved and educated in a new way.

I was greatly inspired by this film; as a parent, I recognised many of the situations highlighted here, and I welcomed the comments and advice that was given.

The Secret

Another film adaptation of a great book, this film very powerfully illustrates how we can learn to use the tools we were all born with to create a better, richer life.
For centuries, religions and governments have sought to control mankind by distancing it from God and keeping it in a state of fear and starvation of many kinds, including spiritual and financial. Reclaiming personal power AND our personal link to the divine can bring about a life that surpasses our wildest dreams.

Conversations with God

Is anything too much for God?

Sometimes we hesitate to pray; we think that our desires are unworthy of God's attention, perhaps. However, just as every bird and every flower matters to creation, so does every person.

God loves each of us so very much; one of the points addressed by this film is that it is not God's wish for any of us to be penniless, abstinent or celibate. Life is to be enjoyed; when we live with God we experience a joy far greater than when we shun God. Many of us talk to God, but we choose not to hear, or notice, the replies.

Something else that is dealt with in this film is the way we strive for a living, rather than for a life. When we focus on the joy, and the beauty, everything is a pleasure. Worries hem us in; joy sets us free.

It is as simple as that.
